At least 12 hurt as fire rips through flat in Hong Kong tenement building

At least 12 people were injured including seven who were left unconscious when a fire broke out in a residential building in Hong Kong on Sunday night.

A man was seen climbing from a window of a low-floor flat of the tenement building at the junction of Canton Road and Saigon Street in Yau Ma Tei at about 8.35pm.

The flat was engulfed in flames. Firefighters brought the blaze under control in about half an hour.
