Blast kills 1, wounds 3 in S. Afghan province

LASHKAR GAH, Afghanistan, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) — At least one person lost life and three others were injured as a bomb ripped through a car in Lashkar Gah, the capital of Afghanistan’s southern Helmand province on Thursday, provincial government spokesman Mohammad Omar Zawak said.

“It was a sticky bomb that targeted a car today morning in Lashkar Gah city killing one person and injuring three others,” Zawak told Xinhua.

The killed one is a journalist, the official said, adding that all the victims are civilians.

Without providing more details, the official said that investigation had been initiated into the incident.
