TEHRAN, Nov. 12 (Xinhua) — Iran defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in a soccer friendly on Thursday.
The match, a warm-up for the 2022 FIFA World Cup Asian Zone qualifiers, was played behind closed doors at the Asim Ferhatovic-Hase Stadium.
Iranian forward Kaveh Rezaei found the back of the net in the first minute of the second half.
The second goal for the guests was scored by Mehdi Ghaedi in injury time.
It was the second victory for Iran under Dragan Skocic’s leadership. Iran defeated Uzbekistan 2-1 in another friendly on October 8.
Iran currently sits third, behind Iraq and Bahrain, in Group C of the Asian Zone qualifiers.
