A Dhaka court today sent four employees of Mind Aid Psychiatry and De-Addiction Hospital to jail in a case filed over the death of Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Anisul Karim on November 9.
The accused are coordinator Redwan Sabbir (23), ward boys Zobair Hossain (19), Md Liton Ahmmad (18), and Md Saidul Islam Palash (35).
Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sufiyan Md Noman passed the order after Md Faruk Mollah, inspector of Adabor Police Station and also investigation officer of the case, produced them before his court on completion of their seven-day remand.
In the forwarding report submitted today, the IO said the four arrestees gave important information about the incident which was being verified. So, he appealed to the court to keep them in jail until the investigation is completed, he added.
The defence, however, submitted separate petitions seeking bail saying that their clients were not involved with the incident.
After hearing both sides, the magistrate turned down their bail petitions and sent them to Dhaka Central Jail in Keraniganj.
Anisul’s father Faijuddin Ahmed filed the case with Adabor Police Station on November 10, accusing 15 people, including five shareholders of the hospital, of murdering his 35-year-old son.
